EU Returns & Right of Withdrawal
This page applies to eligible consumer purchases made by customers located in the European Union.
These rights are provided in addition to Dovenfield's Product Accuracy Guarantee and any other rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.
Your 14-Day Right of Withdrawal
If you are an eligible consumer in the European Union and purchase a Dovenfield product online, you generally have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving the product, without providing a reason.
The withdrawal period begins on the day that you, or a third party designated by you other than the carrier, receives the product.
If multiple products from the same order are delivered separately, the withdrawal period generally begins when the final product from that order is received.
Made-to-Order Products
Dovenfield products are generally produced after an order is placed.
Made-to-order production by itself does not remove statutory EU withdrawal rights.
Where a product has been made specifically to your individual specifications or has been clearly personalised for you, an exception to the right of withdrawal may apply where permitted by law.
Any such exception will be identified clearly where applicable.
How to Exercise Your Right of Withdrawal
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must clearly notify Dovenfield of your decision before the 14-day withdrawal period expires.
You may do this through Dovenfield's designated withdrawal process or by contacting us through our Contact page and clearly stating that you wish to withdraw from your purchase.
Please provide:
- Your full name
- Your order number
- The email address associated with your order
- The product or products you wish to return
- A clear statement that you are exercising your EU right of withdrawal
You do not need to provide a reason for withdrawing.
After receiving your withdrawal request, Dovenfield will provide the information needed to return the product.
Returning the Product
After notifying Dovenfield that you are withdrawing from the purchase, you must send the product back without undue delay and no later than 14 days after notifying us of your decision to withdraw.
Please do not send a product to an address unless Dovenfield has provided or confirmed the appropriate return instructions.
For an ordinary change-of-mind withdrawal, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the product, unless Dovenfield has specifically agreed to cover that cost or applicable law requires otherwise.
We recommend using a tracked shipping service and retaining proof of shipment until your refund has been completed.
Inspecting and Trying On Your Product
You may inspect and try on your garment to determine its nature, characteristics, and fit in a manner similar to what would reasonably be allowed in a physical retail store.
Trying on a garment is acceptable.
However, using or handling a product beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it may reduce its value.
Examples may include:
- Wearing the garment for extended use
- Washing or laundering the garment
- Staining or soiling the garment
- Altering the garment
- Damaging the fabric, print, seams, or other components
- Introducing strong odors, cosmetic marks, or other signs of use
- Removing or damaging components where doing so goes beyond reasonable inspection
If the value of a returned product has been reduced because it was handled beyond what was reasonably necessary to inspect it, Dovenfield may make an appropriate deduction from the refund where permitted by applicable law.
Refunds Following Withdrawal
If you validly exercise your right of withdrawal, Dovenfield will refund payments that are required to be reimbursed under applicable EU law.
This generally includes:
- The purchase price of the returned product
- The cost of the least expensive standard delivery method offered for the original order
If you selected a more expensive delivery method, such as expedited or express shipping, the additional amount paid above the least expensive standard delivery option does not have to be refunded.
Refunds will generally be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase unless another method is expressly agreed.
Dovenfield may withhold reimbursement until:
- The returned product has been received, or
- You provide satisfactory evidence that the product has been sent back
whichever occurs first, as permitted by applicable law.
Product Defects and Incorrect Orders
The EU right of withdrawal is separate from your rights when a product is damaged, defective, incorrect, or materially different from what was advertised.
If there is a genuine product issue, please contact Dovenfield rather than treating the matter simply as a change-of-mind withdrawal.
Eligible product problems may be covered by:
- Dovenfield's Product Accuracy Guarantee
- Our Returns & Refunds Policy
- Applicable statutory consumer rights
Where a return results from a confirmed defect, incorrect item, or other lack of conformity, different return-cost and remedy rules may apply.
Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply in circumstances where an exception under applicable EU consumer law applies.
This may include, among other legally recognised exceptions, goods that have been made to the consumer's individual specifications or are clearly personalised.
Dovenfield will not rely on the fact that a standard product is simply made after an order is placed as the sole reason for treating it as personalised.
